Serving the people of House District 67 in the Texas House of Representatives is a tremendous honor and privilege.  In order to serve as an effective advocate for our community, I heavily rely on your input and feedback regarding the various issues facing the State of Texas and, particularly, the needs of Collin County.
As you know, I am passionate about fighting for and supporting free-market principles, limited government, fiscal responsibility and pro-family values.  During the 83rd Legislative session, I successfully authored legislation to limit the reckless expansion of Medicaid under Obamacare.  Additionally, I authored and passed legislation providing tax relief for small businesses in Texas that are subject to the onerous franchise tax, resulting in stable job growth while broadening our state’s tax base.  Furthermore, I worked passionately on criminal justice issues and passed legislation in the House that cracks down on sexual offenders.  Among other legislative highlights, I authored several pieces of legislation addressing a range of issues, including education, pro-life causes, Second Amendment rights, water infrastructure development and governmental transparency and accountability, to name a few.
I am proud of the great strides we have taken this legislative session, including substantially reforming our public education curriculum standards, implementing the essential infrastructure for our state’s long-term water needs, and providing tax relief to encourage job growth in Texas.  However, there is still much work to be done to ensure that Texas remains a beacon of liberty and prosperity across the United States.  As your State Representative, I am committed to working for real solutions to the problems facing our rapidly growing state, including improving government accountability and transparency, rooting out wasteful government spending, and preserving and promoting our fundamental rights.
I encourage you to visit my new and improved website to learn more about my positions on the various issues facing our state and, as always, invite you to offer your feedback, input, concerns or questions.
