Allen City Council Member Joey Herald Endorses Jeff Leach

Conservative Republican Jeff Leach has received the endorsement of Allen City Council Member, Joey Herald, the Leach Campaign announced today.

In his endorsement, Herald stated, “As an elected official myself, I understand the great desire to have voters be informed when they go to the polls. I take the time to interview candidates. And then I go the extra mile and talk to others who know the candidates. I don’t want someone who will tell me what I want to hear only. I want a candidate whose character will stand strong in the tough days of legislative battles. My research has brought me a high level of confidence in Jeff Leach. I believe he can represent our citizens best. I encourage all voters in District 67 to join me in supporting Jeff.”

Joey Herald was elected to the Allen City Council in 2008 and was reelected in 2009. Councilmember Herald and his wife, Charity, have been residents of Allen since 1995. Herald currently serves on the Allen Convention and Visitors Bureau Committee and is Council Liaison to the Allen Planning & Zoning Commission and the Parks & Recreation Board.

In response to Herald’s endorsement Jeff Leach said, “I am honored to be endorsed by Council Member Joey Herald, a devoted husband and father, community leader and dedicated public servant in Allen. Joey understands that strong character, experience and vision are vital for our next State Representative in District 67. I look forward to working with him and other elected officials and leaders in District 67 in the years ahead as we work to make our community even better than it already is.”

Running for Texas House of Representative in District 67, Jeff Leach was raised in Plano and graduated from Plano Senior High School. He is a graduate of SMU’s Dedman School of Law and currently practices with the law firm of Griffith Nixon Davison, P.C. He received his undergraduate degree from Baylor University. Jeff and his wife Becky are active members of Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano. They live in Plano with their two children Brady, age 4, and Charlotte, age 1.

Leach has received many prominent endorsements from groups such as the Texas Association of Realtors, Texans for Fiscal Responsibility, Young Conservatives of Texas, Collin County Conservative Republicans, Conservative Republicans of Texas and Texas Right to Life, among others. He has also been endorsed by numerous community leaders such as David McCall, Olin Jaye, Bob Baker, Candy Noble, Sharron Albertson, Kelly Shackelford, Cathie Adams, and former House District 67 Candidate Mabel Simpson. Leach has received an “A” rating from the NRA and Texas State Rifle Association and is the only candidate in the race for House District 67 to be “Tea Approved” by the North Texas Tea Party.
