Governor Greg Abbott Endorses Rep Jeff Leach for Re-Election to the Texas House
September 13, 2019ALLEN – Today, Governor Greg Abbott endorsed Representative Jeff Leach for re-election to the Texas House of Representatives.
“I am proud to support Representative Jeff Leach for re-election, and I know he will continue to lead with grit, determination, and integrity,” said Governor Abbott. “I am grateful for his fearless leadership on important issues like property tax reform, investing in our public schools, and protecting survivors of sexual abuse. I can think of no one better fit to serve the people of Collin County than Representative Leach.”
Representative Leach responded by saying, “Having worked closely with Governor Abbott to advance bold public policy reforms on behalf of House District 67, I am immensely honored by his support, and humbled by his trust and confidence in my candidacy. I look forward to continuing our great partnership to ensure that Collin County and the entire Lone Star State remain strong and free for future generations to come.”
With deep roots in the community, Jeff was born and raised in Plano and is a graduate of Plano Senior High School. He earned his undergraduate degree from Baylor University and went on to earn his law degree from Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law. Named a “Rising Star” by Texas Super Lawyer, Jeff practices at the law firm of Gray Reed & McGraw, P.C., where he specializes in complex commercial and civil litigation, construction law and real estate. Jeff was nominated to serve on the State Preservation Board and is a legislative member of the Texas Judicial Commission. He proudly serves on the Board of Trustees for Houston Baptist University and was recently nominated to serve on the Board of Directors for the Texas Conservative Coalition Research Institute. Jeff also serves on the Advisory Board for Meals on Wheels of Collin County. Jeff and his wife Becky, a speaker, writer and author, are the proud parents of Brady (age 11), Charlotte (age 8) and Landry (age 4). They are active members of Prestonwood Baptist Church, where they have served for several years in the Young Families Ministry.
