Rep. Leach appointed to serve on House Select Committee

Today, Texas House Speaker Dade Phelan appointed Representative Jeff Leach to serve on the House Select Committee on Youth Health and Safety. This committee is charged with exploring and developing reforms on many important issues affecting the health, safety and rights of all young Texans. Some items they will be working on are criminal justice reforms that lead to smarter policing and smarter sentencing, providing greater access to healthcare for new mothers and children, closing the gap in the educational losses caused by COVID-19 as well as examining and finding solutions to the ongoing mental health challenges facing our youth. Upon receiving the news of the House Select Committee assignment, Representative Leach said “I’m honored to serve and ready to roll up my sleeves and get to work!”
