I am deeply honored to be appointed to the Texas Bicentennial Commission and grateful to Speaker Burrows for the opportunity to serve. The story of Texas is one of courage, sacrifice, independence, innovation, and opportunity. As we prepare to celebrate 200 years of Texas independence, we have a unique opportunity to honor our past, celebrate our present, and inspire future generations of Texans. I look forward to working alongside this distinguished group of leaders to ensure our bicentennial celebration reflects the greatness of the Lone Star State.
